Mr. Eric Trast (SRS General Music Teacher)
Hello! My name is Eric Trast, and I have been teaching general music and chorus at Swimming River School since 2015. I graduated from The College of New Jersey with my Bachelors Degree in Music Education, with a concentration in classical guitar and voice.
Students at Swimming River School attend general music with me once per week. In general music, the students have a lot to look forward to. Throughout the year, students will be learning keyboarding, ukulele, bucket drumming, singing, and more! 3rd grade students are also given recorders to learn as their first instrument. Topics such as music history and different genres will also be studied. Students will learn about famous classical composers and jazz musicians while playing on the keyboards, and by learning ukuleles students have the opportunity to play along with their favorite pop songs and artists! |
All students at Swimming River School perform at their yearly grade-level concerts, which feature the students singing songs and performing on the instruments they have learned throughout the year. 4th grade students have the opportunity to join Band and learn an instrument with Mr. Amato, and in 5th grade students can join Advanced Chorus and receive extra performance opportunities!
